Grandma's visit and our cabin trip!

So here I am again trying to catch up and finish telling you about our summer, that went by just a little too fast! Anyways here's the rest:

Grandma Kulchetscki came from Brazil to visit us in July, and we had a great time. The girls loved having sleep-overs with Grandma and listening to her stories, getting gifts and playing around.

We all made a trip down to the Temple and grandma got pictures with the grandkids.

Gord took each one of them for a ride. They loved it.

Our brave little Charity even tried skiing. She got up once! She got a little frightened though, and decided it was enough, but we were amazed at her wanting to try all by herself. Maybe next year....

Grace was a little afraid of going tubing at first but auntie Leticia convinced her it would be fun, and she was right! Grace wanted to do it again!

Faith enjoyed every minute of it, you couldn't get her out of the water!

Even I had some water fun, but in my condition, I prefered to sit back, take in the sun, and read my book.

Stampedin'

We had some great stampede activities this year. Our stake had a nice Breakfast with tons of activities. And since I'm trying to catch up on my blogging I need to blog this summer's events...

Charity's hand was supposed to be holding the rope, but it turned out cute anyways.

The gang was busted! The kids got to sit in the back of a police car. It's probably one of the only times we'll think it's a fun thing for them to be sitting there!

Our Vacation

Gordon and I went on an amazing vacation this past June. We went to New Orleans for a Dry Cleaning convention. Once the convention was done we took a cruise ship from there to Mexico. It was just awesome. Here are some of the things we did: This is a famous statue in New Orleans about it's first origins...

The above ground cemeteries. Many are said to be haunted! This one in particular was completely covered in Water during the Katrina hurricane.

This is inside a Chappel in the Cemetery. People do weird things like leave things to "pay their debt" or they were miraculously healed by some saint and then they leave their prosthetic legs and arms...etc. That looked creepy and haunted to me!

This is a monument that was built in honour of the Katrina victims. It's a half a house and some chairs, probably what alot of people were left with! The blue posts on the side show how high the water got in a matter of a few minutes.

One of the many houses still left untouched after the Katrina hurricane. The hole in the roof is how this family got out.

We took an alligator swamp tour while we were there. It was really cool. Actually it was steaming hot, but you know what I mean.

They threw marshmallows into the water for the Alligators to come close up. Apparently they eat anything white! And no it doesn't give them cavities.

It was pretty neat to be this close to an alligator or a few...

The ones we sae were a pretty decent size but apparently they had some enormous ones, we didn't get to see.

Onto the cruise, and of course where do we start? At one of the many food places!

Soooo good!

Our room was so nice and relaxing.

We enjoyed playing in the water park, and many other outdoor things they had on the ship.

We took a shore excursion to see the Mayian Ruins in Chitchenitza. It was so hot and the air conditioning was having problems...

They were amazing to see though. Sure made you think.

It was just a whole city discovered in pretty awesome condition. You could tell what most of the things were, and then wondered about others.

Of course we had the guide's explanation on all these things. This temple was mainly seen as a calendar. The amount of steps and the way the shadows play a role in it all. It's really cool.

They keep finding more things.

This was another similar looking building to the temple but there were statues of different things on the top. Everything was simbolic, and the locals have explanations for each thing, but I think there is more...

This Elephant nose shape was apparently one of their gods.

Of course a ton of merchants on the way!

It just makes you think. All these houses, appartments, temples...

Things are really still in pretty good shape!

Of course who can live without a bathtub? Or hot tub? Who knows?

Then onto a beach in Cozumel.

Gord did some pretty amazing flips and tripple flips on this bungee thing.

It was so nice to relax on a great beach.

Gord thought so too!

I just loved the tropical beauty, and colours of animals, and the water.

Now time to head back home. At the end of it all we were missing the kids pretty bad.

But we enjoyed that water park a little more on the ride home.
